T&D; Technical Services Engineering Supervisor
PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, an electric generation and transmission cooperative serving Alabama and Northwest Florida, is seeking a T&D; Technical Services Engineering Supervisor for its headquarters facility in Andalusia, Alabama. The purpose of this position is to supervise the activities of the T&D; Technical Services Engineering section to provide engineering, design, research & development, technical expertise, and application of automation, metering, and protection schemes and equipment in order to ensure a reliable, efficient, and economical transmission and distribution system. This position is responsible for planning and scheduling the work of the engineers and specialists as well as providing technical expertise and support with the construction, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and trouble shooting of automation, metering, and protection schemes and equipment. This position is also responsible for administrative functions within the section including training, budget administration, policy administration, scheduling, and personnel matters. This position requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university and eight (8) or more years of progressive utility experience in engineering, design, and application of automation, metering, and protective relaying systems and equipment. The incumbent must possess the ability to supervise employees, work cooperatively with others, organize and coordinate work schedules, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. It is preferred, but not required, that the incumbent be a licensed professional engineer.
